Whether its your 1st or 50th pair of pointe shoes, fittings are always an exciting and memorable part of a dancers life. FAQ: How do I know if I am ready for pointe shoes? Your ballet teacher will usually advise you when you are ready for this exciting transition. If this is a goal you are working towards, we recommend you make an appointment with a specialist dance physiotherapist as they will be able to assess your capabilities and give you exercises to best prepare you for this milestone. What do I need to wear? Come to your appointment in comfortable dance attire. We recommend wearing convertible stockings or dance socks so any additional support supplies can be added with ease. How long will my appointment take? Pointe shoe fittings typically average from 30-60mins, however this is highly variable depending on the dancers needs Can my friends and I all get our fittings together? Yes of course, when making your booking please advise the amount of dancers coming for the appointment. Please also be prepared for small waiting periods and remember that each dancer will need approx. 40 minutes. If you book 5 or more dancers together discounts may apply, please contact the store directly to discuss. Aside from the shoes what else will I need to purchase? You may also be required to purchase essentials such as elastic, ribbon, toe savers, ouch pouches, suede toe caps etc, depending upon your individual needs.
